50 foot home brew - f/D 0.465, AZ/EL mount is a military 5" 38 cal. Gun mount, drive motors are 3/4 HP 90VDC With 60:1 worm drive gear box. They drive the gun mount with #50 chain through 2:1 sprockets. The servo drive has a two speed option. Computer tracking with 12 bit absolute encoders, circuit boards by W5LBT, software by K5GW. Positioning accuracy is 0.2 degrees. |

It is 65 foot self standing tower modified with a 11' sq platform on top with a ladder to it. Power winch lift of the 80 ft of rohn 45 down the center to slide up 70ft, with 12'ft of 3" mast and 16' of 2" mast to make a 28' mast. The Mast will hand winch up as I load it with ant. and put in the rotor when done. |

28 foot Kenedy , 0.42 f/D. Centered feed is K2AH scalar type providing circular polarization on 1296 MHz. The off set feed is for 432 MHz, dual dipoles with rotor control for polarization rotation. The transmission line is 7/8 inch heliax draped from the feed to the shack, suitably supported and relay switched as required. This antenna system has been in service since 1973. |
