Chapter 3
III. Who Gives Salvation?
1. Jesus said in John 14:1-3, that He was going to , "prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a __________ for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
2. In verse 5, Thomas is confused, "Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the ______?"
Note: Thomas was not getting the point that Jesus was not just taking a little trip, but that He was talking about heaven. He was going to go there, back with the Father, and He was going to prepare a wonderful place there for the disciples.
3. Jesus further explains in verse 6, "I am the ______, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
4. Acts 4:12 says, "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be __________."
5. Speaking of Jesus, Acts 10:43 says, "To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive __________________ of sins."
6. According to John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have ______________________ life."
7. In verse 18 of that same chapter it says, "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not ________________ in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
Note: Jesus is the only one who can give salvation. Why is He the only one? We will see the answer in the next section!
